The Dragon Bridge (Zmajski most) is one of Ljubljana most recognizable landmarks, famous for its four magnificent bronze dragon statues at each corner. Built in 1901, it was one of the first reinforced concrete bridges in Europe and a masterpiece of Vienna Secession (Art Nouveau) style. Originally named after Emperor Franz Josef I, it was renamed Dragon Bridge in 1919 after Slovenia became part of Yugoslavia.
