Place Guillaume II, affectionately known as Knuedler by locals, is the main square and heart of Luxembourg City. Named after Grand Duke William II, the square features his equestrian statue from 1884 and the neoclassical City Hall (1838) with its lion sculptures. Originally the site of a 13th-century Franciscan monastery, today it hosts the Tourist Office, twice-weekly farmers markets, and major cultural events throughout the year.

クヌードラーという愛称は、ルクセンブルク語の「結び目」（knued）に由来し、フランシスコ会修道士が着用していた結び目のあるロープベルトを指します。フランシスコ会修道院が13世紀から取り壊しまでこの場所にあり、その名前が地元の人々に残りました。
ファーマーズマーケットは毎週水曜日と土曜日の朝に開催されます。広場は新鮮な地元の農産物、花、チーズ、その他の珍味を販売する屋台で変身します。ホリデーシーズンには、クリスマスマーケットが祝祭ムードを盛り上げます。
