Zum Roten Bären (The Red Bear Inn)
Zum Roten Bären claims to be Germany's oldest inn, hosting guests for over 50 generations. Its foundations predate Freiburg's founding in 1120, with a wine cellar from the 12th century. The first documented landlord was Hanmann Bienger in 1387. The current building was constructed in Baroque style in 1718 after war damage. Today it operates as a hotel and restaurant serving traditional regional cuisine in an authentically historic setting.
