An open-air museum featuring six working historic windmills along the banks of the Zaan River. These wooden mills from the 18th and 19th centuries still grind spices, saw lumber, and produce oils. You can climb inside some to see the inner mechanisms and enjoy panoramic views. The surrounding area includes traditional green wooden houses, craft museums, and farms where cheese and clogs are made by hand.
