Wat Phra Singh is one of the most important temples in Chiang Mai, located in the western part of the Old City. Built in 1345, it houses the famous Phra Singh Buddha image, one of northern Thailand most revered statues. The temple is an excellent example of classic Lanna architecture with its intricate golden decorations and beautiful murals depicting Buddhist stories and local life.
