Wat Chaiwatthanaram
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a royal Khmer-style temple built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. One of the most impressive temples in Ayutthaya, it features a grand central prang surrounded by smaller prangs and galleries of Buddha images. Built as a memorial to the king's mother, the temple is especially beautiful at sunset when its silhouette is reflected in the river.
