Vintgar Gorge
Vintgar Gorge is a stunning 1.6-kilometer natural canyon carved by the turquoise waters of the Radovna River over thousands of years. Wooden walkways and hanging bridges traverse at various heights above the rushing water between towering rock walls. The trail ends at the impressive 13-meter Sum Waterfall. Opened to visitors in 1893, it remains one of Slovenia's most beautiful natural trails. The path is relatively flat and family-friendly, though it can be very crowded during peak season. Since 2025, timed-entry tickets are required to manage visitor flow.
