The Victory Gate is the eastern gate of Angkor Thom used by victorious armies returning from battle. It leads directly to the Royal Square and Terrace of the Elephants where the king would receive his triumphant soldiers. It features the same architectural design as the South Gate with four giant faces and a causeway flanked by gods and demons, but sees far fewer tourists making it ideal for photography
