Victoria
Victoria is one of the world's smallest capitals, located on the northeast coast of Mahé Island. Founded by French colonists in 1778, renamed after Queen Victoria in 1841. Home to about 26,000 people — a quarter of the country's population. Key landmarks: Clock Tower Little Ben (1903), Sir Selwyn-Clarke Market, Botanical Gardens with giant tortoises, Hindu temple Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar. The entire centre can be explored on foot in half a day.
