Uzupis Republic
Uzupis is a bohemian neighborhood on the banks of the Vilnele River that declared itself an independent republic on April 1, 1998. Home to about 7,000 residents including roughly 1,000 artists, it has its own constitution displayed on a wall on Paupio Street in 23 languages, a president, a flag, and an anthem. Once one of the most neglected areas of Vilnius, it has transformed into a vibrant creative hub filled with galleries, artist workshops, and colorful cafes. The Uzupis constitution is the world's first to mention artificial intelligence and includes whimsical articles such as a cat's right not to love its owner
