Trinity College & Book of Kells

Trinity College Dublin, founded in 1592, is Ireland oldest university and home to the legendary Book of Kells - an illuminated manuscript created by Celtic monks around 800 AD. The Old Library houses this treasure along with the spectacular Long Room, containing 200,000 of the library oldest books. The 65-meter Long Room is one of the most beautiful libraries in the world.

Best Time to Visit

Book online well in advance - tickets sell out quickly. Morning slots are less crowded. Allow 1.5-2 hours. The campus itself is beautiful for a walk.

Located in the heart of Dublin on College Green. 5-minute walk from Grafton Street. All city center buses pass nearby. Luas Green Line to Dawson. Book tickets online — queues are long. The Old Library is the main attraction.
