Travnik Fortress
Travnik Fortress is a medieval castle dating to the 14th century, perched on a hill overlooking the town that served as capital of Ottoman viziers in Bosnia for 150 years (1699-1850). The well-preserved walls offer panoramic views of the old town, Lašva Valley, and surrounding mountains. Inside is a small museum chronicling the region's history, including the rule of 77 Ottoman viziers. The fortress witnessed key events in Bosnian history and inspired Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić's writings.
