Transfăgărășan Road
The Transfăgărășan Road, called 'the best road in the world' by Jeremy Clarkson, is a 90 km mountain road crossing the Carpathians at 2,042 m altitude. Built by Ceaușescu's order between 1970-1974 as a strategic military route, it features dramatic hairpin turns, a tunnel, and breathtaking views of mountain peaks and valleys.
