Trakai Island Castle
Trakai Island Castle is the only island castle in Eastern Europe, set on an island in Lake Galve just 28 kilometers from Vilnius. Built in the 14th century as the residence of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and fully restored, it is now one of the most photographed sites in the country. The long wooden bridge connecting the castle to the mainland offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding islands. The museum inside showcases medieval Lithuanian history and life at the ducal court. The surrounding area is perfect for walking, boating, and enjoying traditional kibinai pastries at nearby restaurants
