Toshogu Shrine
Toshogu is a shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate that ruled Japan for over 250 years. It is one of Japan's most lavishly decorated shrines, with over 5,000 intricate carvings covering the buildings. Famous carvings include the 'Three Wise Monkeys' and the 'Sleeping Cat'. UNESCO World Heritage Site.
