National Historical Museum

The National Historical Museum is Albanias largest museum, opened in 1981 and occupying 27,000 sqm on Skanderbeg Square. The facade features the iconic socialist-realist mosaic The Albanians depicting national history. Collections span from Illyrian antiquities through Ottoman period to communist era. NOTE: Museum closed for renovation until 2028.
