Tioman Jungle Trekking
Tioman Island offers a network of tropical jungle trails connecting villages and leading to hidden waterfalls and panoramic viewpoints. The most famous is the Tekek-Juara Trail stretching 3.9 miles through the island's mountainous heart, taking 2.5-3 hours with 1,115 feet elevation gain. From Kampung Paya, multiple routes lead to Genting, Tekek, and Juara villages. Asah Waterfall is the island's most famous and highest, requiring a 90-minute trek from Kampung Mukut via concrete paths and wooden stairs. The Salang to Monkey Beach route is a moderate 40-minute jungle path along the northwest coast. Lubuk Teja Waterfall near Juara offers a 1.5-hour jungle trek option. Best time to visit is May to September during dry season.
