Thingstatte Amphitheater
The Thingstatte is a massive open-air theater built on Heiligenberg hill during the Nazi era in 1934-1935, seating over 20,000 people. Designed for Nazi propaganda as part of the Thingspiel movement, it was inaugurated by Joseph Goebbels. The 56 rows of seats slope down 25 meters in an impressive design. Today this historically troubling site offers a unique opportunity for reflection on Germany's past while providing stunning panoramic views. Accessible via a beautiful forest hike from the Philosopher's Way.
