Thatbyinnyu Temple
Thatbyinnyu Temple is the tallest temple in Bagan at 61 meters, built by King Alaungsithu in 1144. It marks the architectural transition from Mon to Burmese style with its distinctive two-story design. Its name means 'Omniscience', referring to Buddha's wisdom. Located next to Ananda Temple, the two form Bagan's most iconic panorama. The temple sustained damage in the 2016 earthquake and undergoes long-term restoration. It remains an active Buddhist worship site where monks conduct daily prayers. Visitors can explore the ground floor interior
