Terracotta Army
The Terracotta Army is a unique burial site of over 8,000 life-sized clay warriors, horses, and chariots created to guard the tomb of China's first emperor Qin Shi Huang (259-210 BC). Accidentally discovered in 1974 by local farmers. Each figure is individual — different faces, hairstyles, poses. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. One of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.
