Terrace of the Elephants
The Terrace of the Elephants is a stunning 350-meter-long stone platform in the heart of Angkor Thom. Built by King Jayavarman VII as a viewing stand for watching returning armies and royal ceremonies. Its walls are decorated with magnificent bas-reliefs of life-sized elephants with their mahouts, as well as garudas and lions. The terrace was connected to the Royal Palace, of which only ruins remain today
