Tennoji Zoo
Tennoji Zoo is Japan's oldest zoo (opened 1915) and one of the largest, located in central Osaka next to Tennoji Park and Abeno Harukas. It houses over 1000 animals from 170 different species, including elephants, lions, polar bears, and hippos. The zoo celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2025 with recent renovations to the penguin and hippo exhibits. A great place for families with play areas for children.
