Temple of Artemis
The Temple of Artemis was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, dedicated to the Greek goddess Artemis. It was the largest temple in the ancient world - twice the size of the Parthenon - with 127 columns standing 18 meters high. Today only a single solitary column remains standing among scattered foundation stones in a small marsh. Despite the modest remains, visiting evokes imagination about the grandeur of this legendary temple.
