Telstra Tower - Black Mountain Tower
Telstra Tower rises 195 meters above the summit of Black Mountain, making it Canberra's tallest landmark and a visible reference point from all parts of the city. Originally built as a telecommunications tower in 1980, its indoor and outdoor viewing platforms offer breathtaking 360-degree views across Canberra, the Brindabella Range, and surrounding countryside. The tower houses educational exhibitions about Canberra's history and telecommunications, plus a cafe with possibly the best views in town. On clear nights, stargazing and the illuminated city below create a spectacular experience. The drive up Black Mountain through native bushland is scenic in itself.
