The Puerto Plata Cable Car is the only cable car in the Caribbean, taking visitors 800 meters up to the summit of Mount Isabel de Torres in about 10 minutes. At the top, you'll find a massive Christ the Redeemer statue similar to Rio's, a botanical garden with tropical plants, and breathtaking panoramic views of the city, coastline, and surrounding mountains. Note: The cable car has been under renovation since 2024, with safari truck tours offered as an alternative until expected reopening in 2026.
