Sule Pagoda
Sule Pagoda is over 2,000 years old and stands 48 meters tall at the heart of downtown Yangon. Its octagonal shape is unique among Myanmar's pagodas. Sitting in a major traffic roundabout, it served as the central reference point for the British colonial street grid. The pagoda houses eight Buddha statues for each day of the week (Wednesday is split into two). Surrounded by historic colonial buildings, it serves as the perfect starting point for exploring Yangon's colonial downtown with its mix of Victorian, Edwardian, and Art Deco architecture
