Entrance fee: ₱100 per person. Environmental fee: ₱50 per person. Regular kayak: ₱300. Crystal/transparent kayak: ₱500. SUP board: ₱300. Life jacket: ₱50. Table rental at floating platform: ₱50. DIY boat fee: approximately ₱2,150 total (split among group). Organized tours: from ₱1,500 per person including transport.

Best Time to Visit

March to October (dry season) offers the best weather and clearest water. Early morning (before 9:00 AM) has fewer crowds and optimal lighting for photos. Avoid visiting during heavy rain or monsoon season (November-February) when boat trips may be cancelled. Weekdays are less crowded than weekends.

How to Get There

Option 1 (Organized tour): Book a Sugba Lagoon tour from General Luna (₱1,500+ per person) which includes van transfer to Del Carmen and boat ride to the lagoon. Most convenient option. Option 2 (DIY): Rent a scooter and drive 45 minutes to Del Carmen Port, then hire a boat (₱2,150 total for the boat, can be split). Tours often combine with Kauhagan and Pamomoan Islands. Ask your hotel for tour recommendations.

What to Expect

After a scenic boat ride through mangrove channels, arrive at the stunning lagoon surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. A floating bamboo platform serves as the base where you can rent kayaks, SUP boards, and relax. The water is shallow (chest-deep in most areas) and crystal clear with an emerald-turquoise color. Spend your 3-hour time limit paddling around the lagoon, swimming, and taking photos. Note: Food and alcohol are no longer allowed at the lagoon, so eat before or after your visit. Facilities are basic - just the floating platform and simple restrooms.

faq.subtitle Sugba Lagoon

No, food and alcohol are no longer allowed at Sugba Lagoon. This rule was implemented to keep the lagoon clean and pristine. Eat before or after your visit. Some organized tours include a stop at nearby islands where you can have lunch. Bring only water to stay hydrated during your 3-hour visit.

Sugba Lagoon is relatively shallow, with most areas being chest to neck deep (about 1-1.5 meters). Some areas near the edges and cliffs can be deeper. The shallow, calm waters make it perfect for beginners to kayak, paddleboard, or swim without strong currents or waves. Life jackets are available for rent and recommended for non-swimmers.
