Strelka - Confluence of Volga and Oka
Strelka is the iconic point where the Oka River flows into the Volga, making it one of the main natural landmarks of Nizhny Novgorod. The area was completely renovated for the city's 800th anniversary in 2021. The walking zone features a panoramic amphitheater with stunning views of the confluence, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and the football stadium built for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Historic pakhgauzy warehouses have been converted into exhibition pavilions and a concert hall. There are cafes, playgrounds, and contemporary art installations throughout. An Ice Palace was completed nearby in early 2025. The site is open around the clock with free admission
