Staatsgalerie Stuttgart
The Staatsgalerie Stuttgart is one of Germany's most important art museums with an outstanding collection of works from the 14th century to contemporary art. The distinctive postmodern new building by James Stirling from 1984 is itself an architectural highlight. The collection includes masterpieces from the Italian Renaissance, Impressionists like Monet and Renoir, as well as Picasso, Matisse, and Beckmann. 12,000 square meters of exhibition space with 800 years of art history.
