St. Paul's Cathedral
St. Paul's Cathedral is a Baroque masterpiece built in 1702 by the renowned architect Lorenzo Gafà on the site of an earlier Norman church destroyed in the 1693 earthquake. The cathedral is famous for its stunning marble floor featuring tombstones of Malta's bishops, magnificent paintings by Mattia Preti, and its majestic dome visible from across the island. The adjacent museum displays manuscripts and a historic art collection.
