St Johns Co-Cathedral

St Johns Co-Cathedral is one of the finest examples of high Baroque architecture in Europe. Built between 1573-1578 by the Knights of St John, the cathedral houses masterpieces by Caravaggio including The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist, exquisite marble tombstones, gilded walls, and a painted ceiling with scenes from the life of St John the Baptist.

Yes, as a functioning place of worship, visitors must have shoulders and knees covered. Sleeveless tops, shorts, and mini-skirts are not permitted. Shawls are available at the entrance if needed.
