St. Anne's Church
St. Anne's Church is a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture and one of the most beautiful churches in the Baltic states. Built around 1500 from 33 different types of handmade red brick, its facade forms a unique decorative pattern found nowhere else in the world. Legend has it that Napoleon was so enchanted he wished to carry it back to Paris in the palm of his hand. The church is part of a complex that also includes the neighboring Bernardine Church in a different Gothic style. The interior is relatively simple compared to the stunning facade, creating an intriguing contrast between exterior grandeur and interior modesty
