Spean Thmor
Spean Thmor, meaning 'Stone Bridge' in Khmer, is one of the few bridges from the Khmer Empire era to survive to modern times. Located on the former path of the Siem Reap River between Angkor Thom and the East Baray, it features 14 narrow arches that are 1.1 meters wide. The bridge was built using recycled sandstone blocks from older temples, many bearing carvings from the Bayon era. The Siem Reap River's course has changed dramatically, and the bridge now stands beside the river surrounded by towering trees whose roots have grown through the stones.
