South Gate of Angkor Thom
The South Gate of Angkor Thom is the most famous and best-restored entrance to the ancient royal city. Rising 23 meters tall, it features four giant faces representing King Jayavarman VII or the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. A stunning 100-meter causeway leads to the gate, flanked by 54 gods and 54 demons pulling a naga serpent, depicting the legend of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk. This is the main entry point for visitors coming from Angkor Wat
