Skadarlija

Skadarlija is Belgrades bohemian quarter, often compared to Parisian Montmartre (they officially twinned in 1977). This cobblestone street preserves 19th-century atmosphere with traditional kafanas (taverns) that have hosted artists, writers, and celebrities for generations. Historic restaurants like Tri Sesira (Three Hats) and Dva Jelena (Two Deer) serve Serbian cuisine with live traditional music. Second most visited attraction after Kalemegdan.

Tri Sesira (Three Hats) is the most historic, operating since 1864 with famous guests like Jimi Hendrix and Bush Sr. Dva Jelena (Two Deer) is equally traditional. All offer similar Serbian cuisine and live music - you cant go wrong. Reserve ahead on weekends

Yes, but authentically so. Locals still dine here, and the kafanas maintain genuine traditions going back 150+ years. Prices are higher than regular restaurants but not outrageously so. The atmosphere and music are real, not staged for tourists
