Sebilj Fountain

The Sebilj is an iconic Ottoman-style wooden fountain in the heart of Bascarsija, originally built in 1753 and rebuilt in current form in 1891. Its elegant wooden architecture was inspired by Istanbul fountains. The surrounding Pigeon Square is famous for its resident pigeons. Legend says those who drink from it are destined to return to Sarajevo.
