Scottish National Portrait Gallery
The Scottish National Portrait Gallery is the world's first purpose-built portrait gallery, housed in a stunning 19th-century red sandstone Gothic building. It tells Scotland's story through portraits of its most famous figures - monarchs, thinkers, artists, and heroes. The collection includes portraits of Mary Queen of Scots, Robert Burns, and Sean Connery. The Great Hall with its colorful murals and statues is an architectural masterpiece in itself.
