Schwabentor (Swabian Gate)
Schwabentor is one of two medieval gates remaining from Freiburg's original fortifications, built around 1250. It features two famous frescoes: Saint George slaying the dragon and a merchant with his wagon symbolizing Freiburg's trading importance. The tower was nearly doubled in height around 1900. Inside, the small Zinnfigurenklause museum houses thousands of miniature tin figures depicting historical scenes.
