Eggenberg Palace
Eggenberg Palace is the most significant Baroque palace complex in Styria and part of the Graz UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace was built as a gigantic architectural calendar: 365 windows (days of the year), 31 rooms per floor (days of the month), 24 state rooms (hours of the day), 52 doors (weeks of the year), and 4 corner towers (seasons). The state rooms feature original Baroque decor and frescoes from the Golden Age. The expansive gardens house free-roaming peacocks and a unique planetary garden designed in the 19th century. The complex also includes the Old Gallery and Archaeological Museum.
