Schipfe
Schipfe is one of Zurich's oldest and most picturesque areas, stretching along the western bank of the Limmat River below Lindenhof hill. This charming narrow street dates to medieval times when it served as a busy trading port. The name derives from 'Schifflände' (ship landing). Today, the historic buildings with colorful facades house artisan workshops - goldsmiths, instrument makers, jewelry designers - plus small galleries and cafés with river views. A quiet, romantic neighborhood away from tourist crowds.
