The Schauinslandbahn is Germany's longest loop cable car at 3.6 km, whisking passengers to Freiburg's highest point in 20 minutes. The upper station sits near the 1,284-meter Schauinsland summit. On clear days, the Swiss Alps are visible from the observation tower. Hiking trails, historic mine tours, and a restaurant await at the top. Closed for about 3 weeks in March for maintenance.
