Satara Rest Camp
Satara Rest Camp is the second-largest camp in Kruger National Park, located in the heart of the park surrounded by sweeping open grasslands that attract enormous herds of grazers including zebra, wildebeest, and buffalo. It's known as the 'cat camp' because the surrounding area offers the best chances of seeing lions and cheetahs - the open plains are prime hunting territory. The vast plains mean you can spot animals from great distances. The camp offers diverse accommodation from budget huts to family bungalows. Facilities include two restaurants (one with al fresco dining), a well-stocked shop, fuel station, and swimming pool. Its central location makes it an ideal base for exploring different areas of the park. Night drives from Satara are particularly rewarding.
