Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka
Sannenzaka (Three-Year Slope) and Ninenzaka (Two-Year Slope) are historic sloping streets leading to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. This preserved district retains old Kyoto atmosphere with traditional wooden houses, souvenir shops, cafes, and restaurants. The nearby Yasaka Koji Street features a unique Starbucks in a 100-year-old machiya building. The stone-paved path is exceptionally photogenic, especially in early morning light.
