The Sanctuary of Sameiro, perched 572 meters above sea level, is the second most important center of Marian devotion in Portugal after Fatima, attracting approximately one million visitors annually. The complex includes a main church, Chapel of the Eucharist, and a staircase with 365 steps - one for each day of the year. The central marble statue of Our Lady was brought from Italy in 1869. The viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views of Braga, and on clear days you can see the Atlantic Ocean.
