Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud is a 12.5-hectare nature reserve and temple complex in the heart of Ubud. Over 1,200 long-tailed macaques roam freely through the dense jungle among moss-covered statues and 14th-century temples. Balinese Hindus consider it sacred, especially the main temple Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, which is still actively used for worship. The site offers a unique experience of interacting with nature and Balinese culture. Watch your belongings - the monkeys are curious and may grab loose items!
