Roys Peak
Roys Peak is one of New Zealand's most famous hikes, ascending to 1,578 meters to reveal stunning panoramic views of Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps. The 16 km return track takes 5-6 hours and climbs continuously through open alpine grassland. The location gained worldwide fame for the famous photo point along the track where hikers appear on a rocky ledge with dramatic backdrop. The track is closed October 1 to November 10 during lambing season. No shade on the track - bring sunscreen and plenty of water.
