Royal Palace of Rabat
The Royal Palace of Rabat, known as Dar al-Makhzen, is the official residence of the King of Morocco although the royal family usually resides at the nearby Dar es-Salam Palace. The complex dates back to 1864 and has been expanded over the years. It features a wonderful blend of traditional Moroccan and modern architecture, with manicured gardens, ornate gates, and imposing walls. Although entry to the palace is not permitted, visitors can admire the stunning exterior facade and the vast square in front.
