Royal Palace of Fes
The Royal Palace (Dar el-Makhzen) is the King's official residence in Fes, spanning 80 hectares. Built in the 14th century and later expanded. The seven massive bronze gates with zellige patterns, carved cedar, and polished brass are among the most beautiful in Morocco. Entry is not permitted but the front plaza is ideal for photography. The surrounding area includes the old Jewish Mellah quarter and Jnan Sbil gardens.
