Rovinj Old Town
Rovinj's Old Town sits on a narrow peninsula jutting into the Adriatic Sea, a charming labyrinth of cobblestone alleys, colorful Venetian-style houses, and hidden squares. It was an island until 1763 when the strait separating it from the mainland was filled in. Buildings stack upon each other climbing toward St. Euphemia church at the summit. Narrow streets are lined with art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and artisan shops. The fishing harbor ringed by pastel-colored buildings is one of the most photographed scenes on the Croatian coast. The entire area is car-free, making it perfect for leisurely strolls.
