Rosenborg Castle

Rosenborg Castle is a Renaissance castle built 1606-1634 by King Christian IV as his summer residence. The castle houses the Danish Crown Jewels and Royal Regalia in secure basement vaults - the only crown jewels in the world both displayed publicly and still in royal use. Three floors showcase 400 years of royal treasures, paintings, and furnished rooms. The castle is surrounded by the beautiful Kings Garden (Kongens Have), Copenhagens oldest park.

faq.subtitle Rosenborg Castle

The Danish Crown Jewels include four garnitures (sets) of diamonds, rubies, pearls, and emeralds - some of the worlds finest. The collection includes crowns still used at royal events, making Denmark unique - these are working jewels, not just museum pieces

Recommended in peak season (summer). The castle is small and limits visitor numbers with timed 10-minute slots. During busy periods, same-day slots sell out. Copenhagen Card holders must also exchange their card for a timed ticket at the desk
